You arrive on Hochfirstweg in the late afternoon, when the light across Titisee turns amber and the fir-line on the far bank sharpens against the sky. The apartment is on the upper level and the key is waiting. Inside, the pale oak floor and unhurried layout immediately signal that this is a place designed for rest rather than performance.

Morning starts without an alarm. The kitchen faces the quieter side of the building and morning sun arrives at an angle that warms the worktop without glaring. You brew coffee, slice bread from the bakery you passed on the walk from the station yesterday, and eat at the small table before the town below properly wakes. The lake is a ten-minute walk down the hill.

By mid-morning you are on the water or beside it. In summer the lake is warm enough to swim from the public bathing areas along the southern shore.
